We honor the memory of two dedicated longtime employees. Carl Phillips began working part-time for Sedberry Funeral Home in in 1950 and continued on staff until his health began declining in 2018. He was affectionately known to family and close friends as Bubba and we all considered him the patriarch of the Carter Funeral Home Family. Robert Smith came on staff in 1990 and continued until his health kept him from working in 2015. Aside from his funeral work, he was our go-to carpenter and woodworker. Robert built the casket biers used in both funeral homes and several of the floral columns we use today. Bubba and Robert were fixtures on every funeral and visitation. Their dedication to the families we serve was above and beyond. They are missed not only by their families and our staff but by the community as well.
